My name is Katrien, and I’m a professional bookkeeper based near beautiful Perth, Ontario. Through my business, Second Banana, I help service-based entrepreneurs - especially coaches, consultants, and health professionals - focus on what they do best: caring for their clients and patients. Meanwhile, I make sure the financial side is not just handled, but handled with excellence.

Why I Started This Blog

Over the past couple of years, I’ve worked with amazing clients who all share the same challenge: keeping up with their bookkeeping and finances while trying to run their business.

I’ve seen the sighs of relief when messy books were straightened out, the confidence that comes from clear reports, and the ease of finally knowing “someone’s got this.”

That’s why I started this blog. To share the answers to the many questions I get, along with insights I’ve gained through my own professional journey.

My hope is that you’ll find ideas, tools, and encouragement that save you time, reduce stress, and maybe even prevent a few grey hairs (it's too late for me though 😏).
